Painting: Acrylic, Paint on Paper. 'Corridors'; is one of many pieces from the Water City collection. The pieces feature the most beautiful and romantic corners of Venice. The enchanting uniqueness of the city is a common theme throughout the collection. The focus of each piece is to transform the fluidity of the city into a work of art. To achieve such an effect I focused on the buildings, canals and the surrounding day to day life of the city. Furthermore the 'Corridors' has been painted with Acrylics to give the painting varying depth and textures which is what makes the painting reflect the earlier mentioned fluidity of the city. ....................... Throughout my art work I manipulate the textures and materials used to add a playful element to my work as well as get the audience to ‘look closer’ at the different parts of the piece. My work is mostly inspired by the surrounding beauty of the world around us. I try to incorporate a glimpse of it in each piece I create. I love getting lost in the process of art, letting it dictate the direction each piece takes. Every painting is different, using a different combination of textures and patterns. I like to make the painting ‘busy’, so that there is a lot for the viewer to explore and discover.
