Crocodile share an ancient relation with India. They are depicted along with many Hindu gods and goddesses in sculpture and painting. In the pre-historic period, seven species of crocodiles resided in India. Now only three exists. Crocodile also known as Makara is a legendary sea-creature in Hindu mythology. In Hindu astrology, Makara is equivalent to the Zodiac sign Capricorn. Makara appears as the vehicle of the river goddess Ganga, Narmada and of the sea god Varuna, the god of ocean. The crocodile is also associated with Kamadev, the god of love. Hoping to bring awareness of this dying spices. I have used a playful, illustrative method to bring attention to the crocs of India. I am also including a bit of Indian folk embellishments style to bring the folklore style to life.

My collection is a summary of a combination, made from the past and the now. Our destiny of living between two worlds, finding our space and voice. As an artist, I explore the two worlds, merge them together to bring fluency and unity on each canvas. I combined the vividly colored, highly stylized and richly detailed elements of a traditional miniature paintings with monotone, carefree, bold lines of street art and design. Going beyond familiar East- West comparisons, my work shows the audience a very rich and infinite exploration of visual vocabulary.
