ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Standing in front of a black-painted canvas, with white paint on the brush I cut off all the excess from the black. It's an exciting process. It is the black and white that helps to see something important in the world - what we do not see in the busy, variegated bustle of everyday life. I like the theme of dance, where sensuality overflows in the dialogue between a woman and a man. Dance is also a symbol of fall and flight, which makes up life itself.

I am influenced by the ancient Dogon culture in Africa and the spirit of Latvian Suiti, I am inspired by the image of a black woman in the contemporary art. I write my big world stories with lines, colors and collages from personal clothes. My own story about the little white woman the bearer of the Eastern European genetic code. She knows what the KGB interrogation was and what the diamonds are, she has no pragmatism. She can clean the potatoes and dream of love at the same time. The question is – what the world is now? Everything is changing. Traditions are collapsing and the big role of a woman – to be a mother, wife- is losing its relevance. There are already so many people on this planet. My heroines, like birds – Phoenix – shrink to ashes, unfulfilled sexuality to be reborn in a new image, in new Goddesses.
