Jarvis Fosdick came to Colorado at age 12 after being born in Connecticut. He grew up with a difficult home life and declared himself an artist while absentee from high school. Despite personal challenges, he earned a bachelors degree in sculpture and landscape architecture from Colorado State University. Since that time Fosdick has been working and collaborating with numerous creative professionals practicing in architecture, computer science, painting, poetry, politics, and sculpture. Representing the diversity of Fosdick’s artistic approach; influences include Christopher Alexander, Henri Bergson, John Cage, Georg Cantor, Christo and Jean Claude, Lawrence Halprin, Douglas Hofstadter, Alexander Von Humboldt, Henry Moore, Agnes Martin and Alan Turing. The broad view he takes is the result of having had to patch together a wildly chaotic early life. He lives with his wife in Denver, Colorado creating art work in the River North Arts District.
