I was born in Kentucky in 1945. All my work is in private collections. My works are all original. As a previous member of the Santa Clarita Artist's Association in Valencia, CA, I have had the opportunity for my work to be juried and entered into several prestigious philanthropic exhibits since June of 2013. They include: The Tournament Players Club, Valencia, CA; "Vine to Wine" at the CA Institute of Art, also in Valencia; and William S. Hart Park's Annual Gala, Santa Clarita, CA. Additional artwork has been juried into and displayed in a themed variety of revolving shows at the SCAA Gallery, located on Town Center Pkwy in Valencia. Prior to returning to reside in CA, my Kentucky roots provided a vast exposure to the natural beauty and changing seasonal settings that surrounded me throughout much of my life. The rich, cultural Appalacian heritage influenced my appreciation of all things hand-crafted which inspired my interest to study the world of design. Later, after my Air Force service years and as a resident of New Mexico, I attended Art classes at the University of Mew Mexico. I would use my background as an inspiration to develop my own line of furniture and adapted my skills to compliment Southwest interiors, which I manufactured and sold in my own furniture stores. When I returned to Kentucky, I furthered my artistic interest by participating in several workshops by various well known artists, both in person and on-line. Encouraged by my instructors and fellow artisans, I continued painting landscapes in both oil and acrylic medium. As a member of the Watershed Arts Alliance, I participated as an exhibitor in the annual "Art in the Vineyards" and frequently exhibited my work at Carnegie Hall Art Center in Somerset, Kentucky. Throughout the years, I have traveled to various parts of the world from Hawaii to Europe and have kept a photo journal which often serves as a resource of reference for my artwork. My goal is to share all facets of the beauty of nature discovered during my lifetime and to encourage others to do the same. All of our experiences can result in a discovery of our inner creative selves. This provides an opportunity to share and translate, through multiple art forms, to enhance the decor of those who especially have an appreciation of original fine artwork. I have just moved back to the beautiful state of Kentucky to retire and paint. I hope you enjoy my work.
