New Earth Goddess: Beyond the Garden Wall By The Color Alchemist Dorothy Fagan I develop the New Earth Healing Palette™ to create life-size expressionist paintings and textiles. Facing the challenge of a lifetime: to heal the self – I use emotion to transcribe feelings into vibrant chakra colors, grounded with gritty willow charcoal drawings. Thus, I regulate the body with earthy tones and stimulate the spirit with ethereal hues. Fusing color and charred willow on canvas, I orchestrate an alternating flow of colorful alchemical light up through the heart. To me, this is where the magic happens. I clear stress with color–which automatically uplifts and soothes simultaneously because divine feminine light flows up from within–not the other way around. With earth and sky colors, I mirror the landscape–feet in the sand head in the clouds. At this sacred site where woodland streams flow from their Appalachian source — through my studio by the pond — to the Atlantic, I find New Earth Goddess within my self. In earth’s garden, I discover my color alchemist self, each time I express feelings with paint. I open a new channel of colorful healing light for the divine feminine to speak with each brush stroke. I draw inspiration from my extensive background in music and gardening from my mother Pauline Fagan, whose commitment to creativity and wellness guides me. I am inspired by colorists like Claude Monet, and expressionists like Joan Mitchell. I build on their legacy to contribute my life experience in healing trauma with color. As global trauma pervades earth, I sense bright iridescent color and metallic pigments to open deeper healing dimensions of human-earth collaboration.
