ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Drums is one in a series of paintings I'm calling Dreamland. It takes the basic archetypal symbols in animistic religious aboriginal traditions, and interprets them visually. Drums depicts the cadence, the rhythm of drumbeats as they repeat and reverberate across space. There are small elements splashes in the margins, that are meant to imitate the effect of percussion on water. The overall effect of the piece is very calming, with the ability to get lost in the detail as you come closer to the work. Drums would be a bold and powerful addition to anyone's collection.
