Eartha Kitt no.7 oil/canvas Private collection, NYC This series of landscape based abstractions began after I had been plein air painting on my friends farm in upstate New York. I left the paintings I had made from life with my friends by way of thanks. Upon returning to the studio I painted from memory. The title is a double entendre referring to the lovely crooner and to the idea of using landscape as a template or point of departure for improvisational abstraction. flum·moxed ˈfləməkst/Submit adjective bewildered or perplexed.
