"My latest work in the 'Primitives' series explores the relationship between past and present through symbolic imagery. A primeval horse emerges through layers of translucent veils, representing the passage of time and the gradual obscuring of memory. Yet the essential form remains visible, a testament to the timeless power of our most ancient impulses. As an artist, I seek to tunnel through modern preoccupations to unearth that primal spark within us all, utilizing color, texture and gesture to evoke transcendent emotional states. By referencing cave paintings and other ancient art forms within a contemporary visual lexicon, I aim to facilitate a visceral connection to our shared human roots across all eras. My goal is to craft immersive works that speak to our core humanity."
