Born in England.Living in London UK. Art school and self-taught.Even when i worked in other jobs i found time to paint and draw. My work consists mainly of abstract's,portrait's,abstract figuration,landscapes and other subjects. But definitions,categories,fashions and labels leave me fairly cold,indifferent.My work utilises a variety of mark making,effects,sources and approaches. These remain my core interests. Some of my influences are: As a child at Christmas i saw Pieter Bruegels winter scenes on Christmas cards.Dutch16/17th century painting/baroque art. Godfried Schalcken portraits/candle light scenes and the film: 'Schalcken the Painter' 1979. William Dobson/Peter lely Tate Gallery. J.M.W Turner. British 20th century art:C.W Nevinson,Paul Nash. Early 20th century modernism.Sophie tauber Arp.
