ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The candlesticks, the bowl, and the flowers represent us and our materialistic world. The beautiful things of this world are sliding into oblivion. The candle is being erased from the top down, not melting, as is the normal progression of a candle's existence. It's being burned from the side, charred. The candle has no hands, no numbers, yet isn't deteriorating itself, because eternity is long. It's a play on the prison tattoo of a clock with no hands signifying a long sentence. A clock with no hands, and no numbers represents eternity. The original is oil with linseed oil as a medium.

I render small beautiful items, geodes, crystals, flowers, and crystal vases larger than life, to focus the eyes, spirit and heart on their beauty. Romans 1:20 reads that "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse", and it is my hope that my paintings help the viewer to see and meditate on His power and perfection.
