I love themes of the after life and honoring our ancestors. Macabre and dark theme balance three other side of life for me. They need be no fear if death or those who have transitioned for it is but a transition to another form of life.

To manipulate, fashion, re-imaging materials, colors, lines, shapes, is one way we act on our birthright as co-creators with the Divine. As the performers or the audience, this helps us push out into the Universe where we may have once been solitary and immobile. we enter worlds and take journeys if only for the brief moment we may stop to admire or consider. This considering even on the tiniest, deepest levels of the mind can open spaces for change, possibilities, certainly, inspiration. All of us are not aware of the affects of these influences, though they surely take place, just as love enters our senses, takes hold of our reason, and we are never the same again after knowing love; just as music can entice us to move in the vibration of The Universal code where we once were still. Such are the gifts of art if we allow ourselves to enter and be moved Let us be so moved, let us be so changed, and let us be unafraid. David Alan Mors has worked in water colors, pastels, oils, various forms of sculpture and in the past few years, predominately in acrylics. David enjoys abstract, realist and stylized compositions. When not working on canvas in his studio, successful projects include Architectural Rendering, murals and custom finishes for architectural projects as well as custom furniture design for clients in California, Maine, Massachusetts, and Texas. His themes usually lean toward the classical and romantic, as well as poetic and Spiritual. Influences for the Artist include Art Nouveau design and decorative arts, the De Stijl movement, Cubism and Abstract Expressionism. Personal interests and passions such as Mythology, Metaphysical subjects, Nature, Architecture, and mid-Century design also effect the Artist’s choice of subject and approach.
