It is late day in the forest and fall colors are highlighted by the lowering sun. This painting shows how it looks in late day when the sun is low in the sky and trees have long shadows while the sun lights up some of the colors in the trees - in this case yellow. She has lived in various areas of the country, which has provided more inspiration, and currently resides in beautiful Tennessee.
