ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It would seem that all parents know and understand their children perfectly. But how wrong are we? My daughter is a cheerful, active, smart, beautiful girl. She likes watching movies, drawing, going out with friends, riding her bike and rollerblading, playing with her hamster and my cats. Always smiling, energetic flies on the wings of childhood. Her amazing zest for life inspired me to paint this portrait. Starting with a drawing and then stroke by stroke, a portrait of a pensive, serious, slightly sad girl on the transition from childhood to youth was drawn. Working on the painting opened new pages for me and my daughter and brought us even closer. Oil painting on canvas pasted on a 34 x 42 cm panel. The year 2021. Treated with final varnish. Signed at the bottom of the image.

Nadezhda Gellmundova was born in Semipalatinsk Kazakhstan in 1975. From childhood, she tended to work in various artistic fields. Drawing, pottery, crochet, sewing, ikebana and much more. Over time, she got into oil painting. As part of self-education, she studied books by American, Russian and Czech authors. Nadezhda's art is many-folded. She creates both realistic landscapes and portraits, as well as fantastic paintings. She uses brushes, spatulas and occasionally fingers when working. She works in a smooth and pasty technique.
