About The Artwork

This technical approach is defined by the exploration of sketching, dripping, vibrating markings borrowed from Impressionists while using sublime and modernist techniques. She always aims to maintain transparency and luminosity in her paintings by applying layers of washes. The placement of markings create known places within compositions and structures suggesting that the canvas is not enough, everything is not said and that it continues elsewhere. She wants to create for each of her paintings a sensory event and she wishes to make the viewer feel the musical effects of smooth blurred colors. The result is a rhythmic momentum of joy and fulfillment.

Bio Contemporary "playful" artist Manon Miserany who signs ÖMiserany®, was born in Montreal. In 1997 Manon acquired a great mastery of pictorial communication, after several years of research and several broadcasts in cultural centers, art gallery and on the Web. His works are found in several public and private collectors in Montreal and Paris. Some of them have been the subject of significant set designs on film sets (notably for Sphere Media and Hollywood productions). Since the age of 4, ÖMiserany has enjoyed drawing while she travels by public transportation. At the tender age of 7, she discovered the work of impressionist painter Claude Monet. This encounter turned her world upside down. She appropriated his turquoise blue in 2011. Manon, true to her passion for art, but still hesitant to commit herself full-time, engages an active life in the fashion world in Sherbrooke, Quebec. There she completed her studies in the field of design in Trois-Rivières and in theatrical creation at Collège Lionel-Groulx in Ste-Thérèse, a school renowned for its excellent Theater Option program. Manon quickly finds herself working on movie sets as a hairstylist for over 21 years to fund her artistic research and to disseminate her work. In 2006, she opens her art school Atelier ÖMiserany, while finding the time time to produce more than 700 paintings. It is only in 2013 that she dedicates herself entirely to painting and immerses herself in an intense creative research, this to the delight of many collectors who appreciate and support her work. Approach Generally, her paintings reflect the essence of the diary that she maintains assiduously since the age of 12. She seeks to express in her paintings a groovy like imagery or life force that permeates her work. This technical approach is defined by the exploration of sketching, dripping, vibrating markings borrowed from Impressionists while using sublime and modernist techniques. She always aims to maintain transparency and luminosity in her paintings by applying layers of washes. The placement of markings create known places within compositions that suggest that the canvas is not enough, everything is not said and that it continues elsewhere. She wants to create for each of her paintings a sensory event that she calls "Groove" and she wishes to make the viewer feel the musical effects of smooth blurred colors. The result is a rhythmic momentum of joy and fulfillment.
