ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This imaginary portrait was inspired by my fascination with the immense power of expression that a face has -without saying a word, a face can tell a whole story. My figurative paintings try to tell different stories, told by different faces... Additional info: This painting is created on canvas stretched on wood bars; the back of the painting looks like the last photo uploaded in the image gallery. The painting is unframed and has unfinished edges. Hanging / installation hardware is not included. On the back, the painting will have a sticker that will include the author’s logo, the title of the painting and the date of completion (month | year). A signed Certificate of Authenticity will be included. The painting is signed on front and can be signed on the back too, if the buyer will want me to. The colors may look a little bit different depending on your screen color/ luminosity /contrast settings. Although my education combined Philosophy and Economics, 10 years ago I fell in love with graphic design and I have been working in graphic design in the last 8 years. My paintings are usually based on psychological or philosophical concepts, exploring different angles of our contemporary fast paced urban lives. A fast-forward life in which we alienate from one another, we alienate from the rest of the world and start seeing only our own “bubble”. We take the preformatted information that it is served to us, we don’t have time to filter anything through our rational magnifying glass and slowly become the fluffy robots that reduce their existence to work and their social media accounts. My paintings “talk” about indifference, superficiality, alienation, ego, emotions, suppression, and many more. I like to explore in the way I paint, and each thought that inspires a painting is better made manifest in a different style or technique. I love the acrylic, but I also love the limitless possibilities of mixed media, I love the brush stroke, but I also love the painting knives… For me painting is a journey, I discover amazing things with each step of the way, and I am only at the beginning…
