This image materialized in my minds eye at a time when I was coming to grips with my sexuality. When you are brought up in a religious family within a predominantly religious community, sexuality and freedom to express yourself is under intense scrutiny. This painting symbolizes a breaking from the chains of such mental prisons. It's freeing.
