I was inspired by the acceptance of the history of Islam by Jacques-Yves Cousteau. The famous French scientist - the oceanographer, the pioneer of research of the deep sea and ocean, the inventor of scuba gear, an underwater house, saucer-shaped underwater vehicle, the author of numerous popular books and films - Jacques Yves Cousteau is known throughout the world. But few people know that the scientific studies carried out by him led him to the adoption of Islam, and he died a Muslim. In 1962, says Jacques Cousteau, German scientists found that in Bab el Mandeba, where the waters of the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea meet, the waters of the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean do not mix. Following the example of our colleagues, we began to find out whether the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea are mixed. First, we investigated the water of the Mediterranean Sea - its natural level of salinity, density and life forms inherent in the sea. We conducted the same analysis of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. These two masses of water have been found in the Strait of Gibraltar for thousands of years, and it would be logical to assume that these two huge masses of water should mix for a long time - their salinity and density should become the same, or at least similar. But even in places where they converge closely, each of them retains its properties. In other words, at the confluence of two masses of water, the water curtain does not allow them to mix. Upon discovering this obvious and incredible fact, the scientist was extremely surprised. “For a long time I rested on my laurels at this amazing phenomenon, which cannot be explained by the laws of physics and chemistry,” Cousteau writes. But the scientist experienced even greater surprise and admiration when it turned out that this was written in the Qur'an more than 1,400 years ago. He learned about this from the French doctor Maurice Bukey, who converted to Islam. “When I told him about my discovery, he skeptically told me that this was said 1400 years ago in the Qur'an. It was like a bolt from the blue for me. And indeed, this is how it appeared when I looked at the translations of the Koran. I swear that this Koran, which is 1400 years ahead of modern science, cannot be a human speech. This is the true speech of the Almighty. After that, I accepted Islam and every day was struck by the truth, justice, ease, usefulness of this religion. I am infinitely grateful to the Almighty that He opened my eyes to the truth.
