ABOUT THE ARTWORK
For the Love of Flowers 2A is a painting which was inspired by my sisters when I was living in Oracle, Arizona. Those memories of days gardening and dreaming of the future seemed endless. Now, I have captured moments in this painting, which will last. Painting with acrylic paints, mixing the colors to create vibrant tones, was exciting as well as giving me a nostalgic feeling. The size of the painting at 24" x 36" gives it power and presence, which can be felt especially when all three paintings in the series are together!

In a small apartment, in California, I discovered my passion for painting. The manager of the complex had the poor judgement to paint all the doors brown. While lying on my couch, allowing fresh air to breeze through my home, all I could see was the drab door. Immediately, I went to the store, purchased enamel paint, and turned the burnt umber to a work of art, with an angel dancing among clouds. The following day, my manager saw the mural and asked me to paint all the doors. This was the beginning of my journey as an artist. As an artist, I believe in the importance of painting without fear. It is necessary to take risks. I begin with the background, sketch the drawing, and fill in the rest.
