I started the Gingko Eternity paintings back in 2018 to honor a young Ginkgo Biloba tree growing in my orchard. As a representative of the oldest living plant on our planet, the Ginkgo seemed to whisper to me a very ancient message, that resonated within me as I painted… infusing each leaf I drew, with very special wisdom. I draw and paint each leaf with graphite, ink, and natural pigments, repeating the process in a vertical pattern on a linen canvas, unrolled on the ground. The vertical shape of these paintings echoes the Japanese Kakejiku tradition of hanging scrolls, which symbolize for me life’s cyclic movements, folding and unfolding, the way these paintings roll and unroll. The "Gingko Eternity" is the fruit of my ongoing quest to anchor and align myself with the cyclic principles of life. Each of her Art work, by seeking to recreate empathy towards the non-human, touches our own humanity and reveals the dimension of beauty, grace and softness inherent in the living.

Stephanie Caldy is a French contemporary visual artist. She is graduated from the Fine Art school in France, and Ecole Boulle Paris. Her art work is shown in galleries in France and in the United States and are part of private collections worldwide. Stephanie regularly collaborates with interior designers for commissioned works. One of her Artwork was recently selected by international designers for a project of alliance between contemporary art and artistic craftsmanship in Nepal. Stéphanie Caldy has built her artistic approach on the wisdom of the living world. Her work questions our relationship with nature and our ability to find our place within the living world. In the forest or in her studio in the mountains, the artist becomes one with her environment. The gesture of painting becomes a performative act that involves the artist’s entire body. On her canvases, nature alternately becomes a metaphorical figure of the human psyche or frequency calligraphy. Stephanie explores the resonance of natural pigments, crushed minerals, inks and watercolors, on linen canvases placed on the ground. Brushes, bird feathers and blown pigments are invited into her pictorial dance. Each of her works, by seeking to recreate empathy towards the non-human, touch our own humanity and reveal the dimension of beauty, wisdom and power inherent in the living.
