The vibrant street art of my city has always captured my imagination with its bold colors and textured surfaces. Artists like Banksy inspire me to find beauty in the urban landscape. For this piece, I wanted to blend the organic shapes of a flower with the gritty attitude of graffiti. The layered petals emerge explosively from the canvas, reminiscent of street art's tendency towards dynamic composition and movement. Splashes of paint in bold tones give the flower a rebellious energy. My goal is for viewers to appreciate the unlikely fusion of nature and urbanity. I hope the contrast evokes a sense of creativity and possibility. The interactive textures beckon the viewer to explore the details up close, as one might examine the surfaces of a city. I chose mixed media to echo street art and the ability to create drips and overlays. The flower's abstract interpretation allows for imaginative expressions of shape and color. The graffiti style represents my vision of beauty blooming even in the harshest landscapes. Where others may see only concrete, I find inspiration.
