ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work was made during a time of personal struggle about guilt. Guilt towards my children, my wife, the world... I felt I was being inadequate as a father, husband and human being in general. From intuition sprang this stick figure, surrounded by all sorts of intuitive symbols. The head is adorned with devils horns and a crown, illustrating the dualism within me about my role as a torturer and king of my own domain. The artwork was later finished with digital art, drawing the imaginary ropes that the arms and legs are bound with. Those show the effect that guilt can have on ones life: it can be paralyzing.
