About The Artwork

The red chilis, with their varied shapes and sizes, are artfully arranged to evoke a sense of rhythm and balance. Some chilis soar gracefully, while others cluster in an intimate dance, their contours creating a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow. Amidst the sea of red, there is an inherent order—a visual poetry that reflects the concept of harmony. Each chili, though distinct, contributes to the overall composition, creating a unified whole that transcends individuality. The composition is carefully orchestrated, inviting the viewer to appreciate the beauty that arises when diverse elements coalesce into a seamless and captivating tapestry.

Tijana Bjelajac is a New York/Los Angeles based visual artist. Born in Belgrade, Serbia. Her work includes paintings, installations, set designs for theater and opera. Her work has been exhibited in, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Prague and Belgrade. Tijana is the recipient of several major awards, including the prestigious Kahn Award for extraordinary talents (2007). Artist statement Being present means immersing yourself into your surroundings both consciously and unconsciously. In my artistic practice, I explore that concept by deconstructing reality and capturing the essence of the moment. Through my work, I engage viewers with artistic expressions of my meaningful experiences and observations. I experiment with worlds both abstract and figurative and my paintings are open to an array of possible interpretations. I use oil and acrylic on canvas, collage, oil markers, watercolor and I often combine these techniques.
