'Home' is a blue ink monochromatic painting. This painting is part of a collection of chinese inspired ink paintings. Based on solitude, minimalism and serenity, this painting embodies these repeating themes, and motifs of a mountainous landscape and lone figure throughout the collection There is an over exaggeration of proportion where the figure is portrayed as very small in relation to the towering mountains and the vast space the figure is existing in. This painting in the collection is inspired by the artist's connection to being immersed in nature and moments of quiet and solitude. 'Home' is a painting that calls to mind one's concept of home. Home means different things to different people. In this painting, home refers to a safe space, a place of peace and a place the lone figure feels their most authentic self. Home is not a destination to the lone figure. Rather it is the journey. It is the meditation of being in nature and being alone, rowing a small boat in the calm sea.

Caribbean artist with influences from beautiful and vibrant biodiversity in her home country, Trinidad and Tobago. Having a playful and dynamic artistic style that is experimental, she explores different styles, from using vibrant and fauvist inspired palettes to a monchrome. She is primarily inspired by Chinese landscape ink paintings that have evolved into a more contemporary expressive style. Her most recent works consist of monchromatic ink paintings that see a greater abstraction of forms, expression and playfulness in design overlays. Her use of ink is therapeutic and meditative where one has to understand the natural flow of ink and how it interacts with layers, water and the paper in creating forms.
