He has a frontal lobe injury he sustained as a passenger in a car accident. Emotions, impulse control, and short-term memory all are functions of the frontal lobe. There are days I say things to him and he gets whatever I am saying totally wrong from what the intended meaning was. Then he gets Krakatoa-level mad at me. One day I had a discussion of some current event with a few people and I tried to tell my partner about what was talked about - he went bananas in some other direction entirely and wound up angry at me about it! Mostly it's not a big deal living day to day with his brain injury but man, there are moments. This was one of them.
