This impressionistic watercolor was inspired by a succulent in a greenhouse at dawn. This could be mounted and framed on an oversized white mat and frame for a stunning presentation. Or cropped to zoom in on the succulent only for an interesting study. Rich, soft colors and my unique background make this watercolor look intriguing far away or up close. 140 lb cold press 100% cotton watercolor paper with Daniel Smith watercolors. I'm a retired graphic designer. When someone asks what kind of art I do I usually answer "I'm all over the place". Most recently I've focused on watercolors. Many years ago I painted on canvas with acrylics. In the recent past I've created stained glass windows which were shown in the Grovewood Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. When I returned back to my home on the West Coast my focus became watercolors while living in Astoria, Oregon on the Columbia River. I am inspired by nature for my subjects and palettes.
