This is a response to spending time living in an archipelago. Semi-representational, it evolved spontaneously the subject suggesting connectivity and isolation. The land is one, separated by the ocean. The Asian country of Indonesia consists of more than seventeen thousand islands with many having their own distinct cultures, yet they remain 'united in diversity'.
Various areas of impasto create interesting texture contrasted with more subtle glazed passages.

The painting is unframed and will be despatched as a rolled canvas, for ease and safety of transport and to reduce the shipping cost. It will be shipped packed in a secure tube.
