Suzette Huwae: She was born and raised in the Netherlands. Growing up in a Dutch society with her Moluccan roots made her fully aware of her multicultural background. Now based in London she enjoys every aspect of the vibrant city life and is fully inspired by all the glamorous, colourful and strong women of all cultures, around the world. Suzette is inspired by slick glossy glamorous magazines, fashion designers, furniture, big cities, fashion items In her work she is looking for that balance of glamour and rawness. As its not all glam in reality. She is looking for contrasts. Expressive thick bold painting strokes against delicate thin charcoal lines..subtle glitter bits. Different techniques are used in her work, like spray paint, acrylics, glitters, charcoal, drops and splashes, gold and silver leaves or even Swarovski Crystals.
