My work is figurative but with a bend toward expressionism, and it is like a personal diary where I document my fears, thoughts, dreams and expectations. To achieve this, I engage in portrait-making because it helps me to make sense of the complexity of the human character. The human face, a central aspect of portraiture, is one of the most expressive subjects among artists. The human face has engaged the interests of many artists from the beginning of time to the present. Yet it still offers a lot to artists who see no limit in the expressive capacity of the face. Some of the emotions I try to capture in my portraits include Joy, anger, calm, sadness, exasperation etc. The aspect of my art that I consider important is titling, which I see as an extension of my artistic concepts. The titles of my work range from irony, and sarcasm to metaphor, thereby offering the recipients a handle to appreciate or read meanings in my works.
