Micaela Cometa (b. Italy) is a neo-expressionist painter based in Lanzarote, Canary Islands. Her work is deeply rooted in the body, the ritual, and organic transformation. Using natural materials such as volcanic ash, salt, menstrual blood, and wine, she creates intensely textured paintings that blur the line between sculpture and canvas. Her practice focuses on memory, female power, and raw vulnerability—every piece is a threshold, an invocation, a wound turned into vision. Micaela has exhibited in Berlin, Miami, and Art Basel, and her works are part of private collections across Europe. Each painting is not only an image, but a residue of a lived process: layered, intimate, alive.
