Landescape #8 Print

My most recent work is a series that explores the way landscapes and cityscapes are perceived by a viewer in motion. Too often landscapes seem static. And in some ways that makes sense. Barns don't move even if cows do. Buildings are fixed even as cars and trains pass them. But the experience of viewing landscapes is ever-changing in large part because we, the viewer, are usually in motion. I'm interested in the way the world shifts and curves and folds in on itself as we move through it. In a weird way, as we move, the light and color and shape all bend and change in response. And of course, the distance and perspective of the viewer provide an opportunity to reflect on the way disparate and distant entities can seem quite close to one another.
