ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Piece was inspired by a book "The Song of Achilles" by Madeline Miller. The painting presents the last kiss between Achilles and Patroclus on the Mount Pelion. The last day they were truly free and happy. Achilles lays in the hyacinths that his skin smelled of. Patroclus is surrounded by blooming yarrows. It is a moment of forgetfulness and pure love between two lovers, friends and heroes.
