I seek to connect with others in capturing light and the ethereal nature of being in my paintings. Creating magical portals to dreams and soul spaces, my work invites connection and reflection, and I hope it sparks a conversation with the soul that resonates within you. It is my privilege and delight to manifest beauty, joy, peace, courage, and the power of our dreams and the strength that resides within each of us in my art, and to share it with the world. This painting represents the magic that can happen in our lives when we take those (sometimes terrifying) leaps of faith into the unknown. What magic and possiblities lie outside our comfort zones!

Jennifer is a fourth-generation native of Washington, DC, and was blessed to grow up in a city with so many amazing museums, resources, beautiful places, and opportunities to pursue art. She matriculated from the Catholic University of America with a B.A. in English Literature, with concentrations in Fine Art and Philosophy. After graduating, Jennifer continued her art education with classes at the Smithsonian Institute and Corcoran School of Art & Design in Washington, DC, the former Columbia School of Visual Arts in Columbia, MD, and the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA. Jennifer has worked with pen and ink, colored pencil, acrylic and oil, and clay, and has pursued painting, figure drawing, calligraphy, stippling, ceramics, and more. For the past 6 years, she’s focused on painting mostly abstract in acrylics and oils. She has exhibited her work in studio tours, gallery exhibitions, restaurants, and shops in both Virginia and New Mexico. Jennifer began her pursuit of a creative avocation in earnest after a career in commercial real estate in Washington, DC, spanning more than 15 years. She was a yarn dyer for nearly 18 years, opening Spirit Trail Fiberworks in January 2003. It was a different and really fun way to work with and experience color. She returned to painting in 2016 and currently splits her time between Rappahannock County, VA, and southwestern New Mexico, where she lives and creates on a ranch in the Gila National Forest outside Silver City.
