About The Artwork
Fascinated by the relationship with the 'online self' and 'technology', I wanted to capture a painting that was of a fashion model (in this case 'Liu Wen'). We live in a world where images are so saturated it is hard to distinguish was is 'real' and what is 'fake'. Models are usually portrayed as flawless and perfect, however, I wanted to make a painting that captured this but also had a contrast. Applying abstract clean shapes and covering up areas of the models face, symbolises technological interference with oneself.
