ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This acrylic portrait was inspired by the country-wide lockdown imposed by the UK government in response to the 2020 pandemic. The painting, with its very limited colour palette and random stones and strings, signifies the limitations in freedom and resources that many suffered during the outbreak. Being part of several self portraits the artist metaphorically expressed the solitude people were imprisoned by.
