ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In 1837 the Ship Justine, which left Germany bound for Australia, arrived in Brazil. Among the crew were the Wiegandt Family who went to "Serra da Estrela" (Star Montain), "Córrego Seco" (Dry Stream) and "Fazenda Itamaraty" (Itamaraty Farm). Shortly after, the city of Petrópolis city was founded, but the Wigandt moved on to Nova Friburgo (Mountain regions of Rio de Janeiro).
