About The Artwork
Lotus, the symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. In reality, the lotus is a most beautiful flower but its birth will be in dirtiest waters. The lotus flower can be very fragrant and they usually open up in the morning, but its petals close in the late afternoon. The leaves and flowers of the Lotus float and have long stems that contain air spaces in them. The lotus flowers have many petals overlapping in a proportional pattern. The upper surface of the leaves is waxy and impervious to water. The lotus has several curative properties in traditional medicine.
