ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Each of the Lovers come from Ta's memory and imagination, "my feelings, my memories, some good some not so good, but I try to focus on the good ones, a dance I remember, a hug after a long time apart, or hold someone very dear to me". Ta loves to be bold and untamed. She experiments with vivid colours and the finest oils. Her painting style is free and fluid, and void of inhibitions. She gives her lovers plentiful and sensual curves. They have an intimacy that only lovers can share; they are free of age, origin and nationality. They are free and in tune with each othe. Happily, my work is dotted across the world in over fifty three countries. I come from very humble beginnings and a rural farm in northern Thailand. To see my work in homes across Europe, Asia, North America, the Middle East and Australia is thrilling and an honour for me. I want my art and people to possess a character that makes them unique and for each painting to be at the heart of a home and provide immense joy and happiness for years to come.

Ta Byrne is a Thai artist who lives and works on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, just off the south coast of Thailand. Her Oil Paintings . are vibrant, eye-catching and packed with a sense of fun and humour. Ta takes humans as her focal point in her Figurative Painting but abstracts these figures by distorting them and using a cartoonish style to create a more humorous feel. While her work is mostly representational, she incorporates Surrealist elements in many of her paintings, making her one of the most exciting artists working in Thailand today. Ta comes from humble beginnings, living out her childhood on the rural outskirts of Bangkok as a farmer's daughter. During her teen years, she worked sewing shirts in a Bangkok sweatshop, and it was during this time that she met an old street artist who invited her to his studio. This sparked her desire to become an artist, and since then, she has gone on to produce Abstract and Cubist paintings that have received international acclaim from art connoisseurs.
