ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I painted this piece after a visit to Seal Cove in Half Moon Bay, California. What struck me most about the scene was the wide variety of textures: soft sky, wooded cliffside, dusty sand path, silky flower petals, and the rippled low tide surface of the water. What's more, the colors were so incredibly vivid. I painted this in oils in order to capture both the varied textures and the bright yellows, blues, and greens. My hope is that the painting brings viewers the same sense of awe and peace that I experienced at Seal Cove.
