ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This series was inspired by the compression of time, and how quickly life can spring forth and disappear depending on the scale of your vantage point. Playing with forms and time, this series depicts layered stratum aglow under compression, amidst a warm, fleshy palette & radial focal point. Abstract shapes and elements of urban architectural vocabulary convey an imagined city built in the blink of an eye, and gone with the pop of a pimple. I chose an under layer of acrylic, with the bright electro-magnetic arc in the sky (and it's subsequent glowing influence over the 'city') rendered in oil.
