A mardy frog band painted in Sumi Ink. As grumpy as they look, their upturned faces and musical instruments are sure to bring a cheeky smile to your face. I painted this one particular evening whilst listening to one of my favourite sun ra albums, and it translated into me imagining a band of instrument playing amphibians.

Nasha is a Sheffield raised, Manchester based visual artist who explores themes of nature, mind and the human form through a whimsical, childlike lens. Taking inspiration from surrealists like Dali, folklore and faeries, the psychedelic imagery of the 60s and children’s cartoons, Nasha’s work aims to be both playful and a little humorous, whilst inspiring a sense of nostalgia through the simplistic use of line. Nasha works primarily in black and white using acrylic markers to create bold compositions that teeter the line between the abstract, the surreal and the absurd. Nasha is working on a number of projects, including creating a series of drawings that explore Sheffield’s unique mix of brutalist architecture and green areas. A founding member of the Manchester/Sheffield art collective, The Order of The Fool, Nasha is currently working alongside a diverse group of Northern artists to produce a body of work that will be exhibited around Sheffield and Manchester later this year.
