Bread and butter commission from a big fan of Margaret Thatcher here in Bangkok She was loved and hated in equal measure She received a State Funeral and was mourned by many, but others were dancing in the streets when she died Daughter of a shopkeeper in England and by god she was sharp Many times I heard the opposition ask bloody difficult questions and I'd say to myself "If she can give a good answer to that one, I'll be amazed" And many's the time I was amazed. She was PM when the Argentinians attacked the Falkland Islands and she sent the military down to the South Atlantic Ocean to liberate them. The Falklands are still under British rule to this day. Here in Ban Chang there are two ex British Commandos that actually helped attack Port Stanley in the final days of the attack Yes, she was hated and loved. She dominated British Politics for years, but it was the old Tory establishment who wanted to stay in the EU that eventually got her to resign - She was in tears ! Just like Crazy May, the latest female to be UK PM But Thatcher was a true patriot, Crazy May was working with the EU to keep the UK under the control of the EU and that's why Crazy May was detested by so many Anyway the customer arrived the day I finished her portrait It was a 200 mile round trip for him on the motorway. So yes, he really was a big fan. You can buy prints of my portrait, even though the original oil on canvas has been sold already Kind regards to all - Chris in Ban Chang, Thailand

I was born in the very beautiful town called Llandudno in North Wales. It's just across the Conway River were stands a huge 1,000 year old Norman Castle. The scenery is spectacular to say the least I grew up in Liverpool and worked there in engineering as a teenager and young man. I then moved to The Wirral and lived there for over ten years About 16 years ago I bought an incredible apartment here in Thailand and started a family. I now have two children aged nine and eleven. We have a big UK style bar restaurant here where everyone goes to socialise. There's lots of guys who work in the oil and gas industry. They're clever, witty and sociable. This is a very laid back fun lifestyle. Oh, and there's quite a few ex military guys. Oh and of course one or two gangsters. And that's just the expats. I'm retired, so I have lots of spare time, but now I've started painting again and that's been a labour of love. I don't take myself too seriously, and like to think I've a good sense of humour, and I hope that's reflected in my paintings. I do hope you like them, and then want to buy them ! Do leave a comment please. Something like "brilliant or superb" .... I'll be very happy with that !
