Is it possible to be free in a square? Why not. The first painting Michele Lysek did in 2017 was about colored squares. He then moved on from the squares to break free and create new paths for his art. In 2020 he came back to the squares (or the squares came back to him) and Michele thought to himself he could now make use of all the treasured techinques he had came across in his artistic day to day journey. The name of the new born series is Matching Not Matching. some kind of "Je t'aime moi non plus", calling for opposites. disruption and empathy. Smoothness and provocation. Control and letting go. Order and random. Geometric and free. Awareness and joy. Multiple colorful abstract compositions or just one whole piece of art? Each square has its own identity, essence and uniqueness. Even further. When considering them combined (2x, 3x, 4x squares, ...) we can discover a new identity, essence and uniqueness with each combination that creates a different feel, triggered in the playful, receptive watcher. The artist works on several layers to obtain a texture and a visual reminiscent of random urban walls, combining soft pastel tones with punchy fluos. Squares and hand drawn lines. The artists work is mainly about positive vitality, joy, awareness, letting go, love and empathy. A reflection of our contemporary world and a pinch of provocation. Original, unique and signed artwork. Hand made wooden frame by the artist. Please note: depth of frame is 4 cm / 1.6 inches Ready to hang. Feel free to ask questions, request more pictures or a video. Thank you!

Switzerland
***About the artist*** Born in the italian part of Switzerland in 1981 to a Czech father and a Czech and German mother. From Ticino to Paris. From hip hop to the theater. From the nights spent in a cardboard box to the TV advertisement. From valet parking in luxury hotels to the evening classes at the university. From versatile Mc Donald's crew to co-founder of a startup. Self-taught, in 2018 Michele decided that he would work as a professional artist. Since then, his work has constantly be shown in exhibitions, art fairs and online galleries and has been picked by many Swiss or international art lovers who have added it to their private collections. ***About his work*** The subjects tackled by the artist are rather common topics. His challenge consists in giving them a touch of originality through his own interpretation. It is mainly about positive vitality, joy, awareness, letting go, love and empathy. A reflection of our contemporary world and a pinch of provocation. Michele works on several layers to obtain a texture and a visual reminiscent of repainted walls, or like surfaces where something has been torn off. The artist evokes a testimony of successive traces, where a new history is constantly rewritten. Time and human beings. Abandonment and re-birth. The courage to change. The humility of being in the present moment. Leonardo Da Vinci said: "Art is never finished, only abandoned." But is there really anything ever finished? Isn't everything in movement, evolving, transforming, changing and passing by? *** Thank you for your interest!
