ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My wife and I recently visited our sister and brother-in-laws in Central Michigan. I took a couple photos of the area. This is my impressionistic interpretation of this beautiful area. My wife and I live in the Northeast where it is hilly, so I forgot how big the sky looks in the midwest where there are farmlands and less hills and trees, where the sky looks more beautiful and spectacular.

I started painting late in life, approximately three years ago, after I had a conversation with my nephew, who was attending college for an art degree at the time. Dennis Collins, my nephew, is a very talented artist and I am a fan of his. He was nice enough to pass on in one of our conversations that his favorite art professor used to say that any painting is good and that you shouldn't worry about the outcome. It is an expression of the individual doing that artwork. After that conversation, I figured what the heck, I will go for it. So now my favorite thing on weekends, is to get up early in the morning, crank on my favorite rock and roll music and just go for it. I usually come out of a "painting frenzy blackout" - the good kind :), covered in paint after 3 or 4 hours, feeling great. I LOVE TO PAINT and am truly blessed that I found this passion/hobby.
