ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In my work, the half-humans and half-animals carry many different meanings; often, they represent animalistic instincts and powerful beings that can protect something or someone. Also, I often use hexagon shapes as symbols of the external world or lens to peer into the world. I like to see and use patterns and images taken from different sources, like decorative paper, fabric, and pictures from magazines and newspapers. they include various references to current cultures and contemporary society.

Korean-born visual artist Suyeon Na received a BFA from Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea and a MFA from Pratt Institute in New York, U.S.A. Na has nationally and internationally exhibited her works in many venues in the US, Korea, Japan, and India, including the Chashama Gallery, AHA Fine arts, Rush Arts Gallery in New York, Hangaram Art Museum in Korea, Studio Kura in Japan, and Jawahar Kala Kendra Arts Center in India. Her works are held in many private and public collections, including the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at Oregon, U.S. Her works display a broad range of styles and images, but their common theme lies in the intersection of art, design and personal psychology.
