ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Living by the sea, its impossible as a human not to be influenced by the constant incoming motion of the waves- although there was no intention for the waves in this painting to be depicted specifically as sea water. As a painting it is for myself an act of self balancing or perspective regulation: often when dwelling on cool colours for extended periods, the eye is pulled into the work, the view is always extending away from the viewer. This painting is about everything that is given back and comes TOWARDS the viewer, almost as an event of reseting or grounding the artist back where they are best placed to move to anywhere else they might want to go.
