ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Montreuil, France pt. 2 is included in a series with 5 other paintings that were created in the eastern suburbs commune of Paris. They all follow the same strict guidelines of not lifting the paint brush off the canvas as often as the artist would have liked to in order to achieve the repetitive, layered patterns seen throughout the image. Buechler focused on the shapes that could be created when repeating the line variances.
