ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is my selected detail from my watercolor, Mountain Road Cabin Stowe Vermont 2024, uploaded here to Saatchi Art yesterday. There's almost always one or more segments in a work that especially appeal to me and I think it's nice to also present that out-take when possible. Usually it happens it creates a different size ratio also; for instance, this detail, with its border is 5:4, which can enlarge to an 8x10, 16x20 and larger. Though I notice Saatchi Art includes a mat border for art print versions, this also enables a border for acrylic prints and others. My own created border usually adds what's essentially a second inner mat. I framed and matted pictures in my own frame several decades ago, including a small shop I had across from the University of Texas way back in the early 90s 😊 I am open to producing custom color combinations, but not sure how that would work yet, but am open to that. This current cropping from my full original carries it's own interesting set of tensions and dynamics I hope you'll enjoy exploring as much as I did πŸ™ My next upload is a further abstraction of my 2016/18 photo & oil, via a new 16x20 acrylic.

082124 update - My earliest memories of making art were my early school years, 1st - 3rd grade, watching colors from crayons and watercolors dance with reflections from the light across rough bumpy paper 😊 I'm still working with that fascination, alternating between smooth and rough, lines and blocks of color. It's best to say, at nearly 74 years of age, I'm finally beginning to accept I don't like doing only fields of color, or line-work, or abstract or representational. So here at Saatchi Art, I present my smorgasbord of work in differing mediums or styles - but I do think what has always persisted is - my sense of awe with life - internal, external, and mingled. Please feel free to contact me with and questions πŸ™πŸ˜Šβ€οΈ
