ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Sides: painted in colors matching the artwork Ready to hang, although it’s recommended to frame Shipped in a cardboard box When I paint, I feel energized and feel the essence of ideas, feelings, emotions, and energy flowing through me onto my canvas in the form of colors, movement, shapes, and marks. First, I choose colors to work with, and I cover the canvas with the first layer using various colors and techniques. I let that dry, and begin the next layer, adding shapes and colors, letting my intuition guide the forming of the composition. I add marks using paint, charcoal, ink, pastels, and other mediums and tools, and I continue adding layers and marks until I am satisfied with the overall effect. Often in my works, you will see the representation of paths, as I believe each of us forms our world, and we must choose the path that will bring us to our desired future. The path you take is up to you. Do you choose to walk on cobblestones, or follow an animal trail, little dots, to float amongst the happy bubbles, follow a line, or forge your own path? I hope when someone views my artwork, they are guided to feel gratitude for the good things in their lives and instill a feeling of hope and empowerment for defining one’s own future. I love working with analogous color palettes and am drawn to turquoise blues and greens. With this piece, I aim to portray hope and joy through the use of uplifting colors and representational shapes.

It is often easier for me to express myself through body movement, such as dancing, and through writing and visual creative works vs. the spoken word. My feelings, desires, and passion flow through me into my artwork, where my self-expression is poured out onto the canvas. It's my goal to promote kindness and love through my art and in my life, often with a dash of fun thrown in. I hope to allow others a peek into a neurodivergent person's life, to help raise awareness of how many peoples' brains work differently than neurotypicals, and to embrace strengths and gifts that are part of this diversity. My artwork medium is usually painting with acrylics, sometimes with a bit of pencil, pen, pastel, and other mediums thrown in the mix, and always, a dash of positive energy.
