North America Nebula NGC 7000 Print

This is one of the first paintings I have made thinking about the space. It was done in oil, the most traditional of mediums, thing we can feel and sense, but the topic itself is very far away from our understanding. It was done by collaging the NASA's photography of North American Nebula NGC 7000. I was just curious to explore how do we perceive the actual physical space that we cannot feel with our limited senses. The painting is very "juicy". The layers of rich color is showing that it can be seen and felt, that it was done by hand. I always choose the biggest possible format and limited palette for my paintings hoping that it will make people overwhelmed with the see, that it will fill up the viewing field, make a viewer dive and get lost in their own thoughts, slow down and get in touch with themselves.
